Recently I switch from Zerg as my main race to Terran. Since then ive been doing nothing but TvPs. At first it was really hard but after a while i started understanding the timings a little better. I still have a long ass way to go but I though id share this exciting game with yall.
A protoss player like this one would have steamrolled me with his macro about a week ago, but I realized that it is EXTREMELY important to time toss expands with your own and as a result I was able to stand to go toe to toe with this toss in the late game, and it turned out to be quite an exciting game, with almost constant battles and harassment and eventually all out macro war. I still lost though
Im still very young with Terran i 1v1 but this is the best ive played so far.
This is Olympic level game lol.....j/k
The protoss is around C- i believe and I only recently started playing Terran seriously in 1v1, playing only TvP for the moment. The past couple weeks i was struggling in D- until i realised the importance of knowing when P expands, which is why i was able to fight this toss so evenly. Im still having major trouble with 1 Gate expand builds though. Im like 9-20 on that account getting pounded by that build lol.
I agree however, 90% of the time on 4 player maps i scout them in the last spawn(im so have no luck lol) and at this time im already too commited to 1 Fac expand, one way of dealing with this is to get mines before of siege for map control cuz he'd have late obs, but do you have any other suggestions that might be more effective in the case of scouting him too late ?
u should try this bo, ive been rapeing B ranked tosses with it
reg 9 supply 10 rak
pump 3 marine, drop 2 facs almost same time so saving up with about 330 mins 160 gas, by the time u pull off the 2 scvs etc..
at roughly same time drop academy,
get both machine shops and pump tanks only first 4-6 whatever u want, start makeing marine in all of this, u really need to work it out so you can push out with 120 scan 6 marine 3 medic, 6 tank, and then u get vults after the 6 tanks with mines, but before that u need a bay built.
i call it a quick hard push -
ive been sucessfully takeing there 2gate exp and containing them to a 1 base only, watch out though cause if hes smart he will go reaver drop right away to counter. so set ur base back up and then u can put ur way to victory in a 2v1base, but.. dont forget to scout the rest of the map.
this is an ideal bo on a 4 player map like fighting spirit, it works so well because it is quite unorthodox yet effective.
Actually your build is very similar to a rush build called the Joyo rush, in which the push is done with 3 tanks and 5 marines. Ill play around with your version. Also does it transition well into a macro build ? Cuz 6 tanks on 1 base seems kinda all-inish and would definately delay the your expo.
what i noticed was some major mistakes on your part
you basically threw away that game about 5-6 times
you had +60 supply on him in a TvP and STILLL lost.
many T make the mistake and just sit there
you have to be more agressive, u sitting there basically just let him take over the entire map and got raped
you should of easily won that
bad scouting
bad micro (you had 3k 1k) at one point
its definitely a big early push build, it the main pt is to get a turret up at his 1st nat, and start tanking it / bunking / mineing, u should b able to take that nat with proper mechanics and micro even vs B+ A- players.
and ofc there are many fluctuations for the build, just play with what you like, but u definitely need early scan atleast 2.5 and 3 meds. the main goal is to take his natural in the exact time u just got your 1stexpo up., then covering is the next step laying mines turrets tanks, and not dying etc..
10 goons vs 6 tank 8 marine 3 medic with proper angle hits, terran will win, but yes angle attacks are crucial because 10 goons can rip all that in 1 line.
you have 2 b constantly getting the edge on him, which is not 2 hard with good practice
