Terran Block at 6 is No Longer Viable
Strategy GuideYes is no longer a complete seal due to a bug with Protoss's Assimiliator. Take a look at the screen shots below. When a Protoss's Probe build an Assimiliator at the gas, Zerglings are then able to go through it. However, this will not work with Terran's Refinery and Zerg's Extractor.

The screenshot below shows a complete seal by Terran at 6.



However, when a Protoss's Assimiliator is build on the gas, Zergligns can slip through it without any problem.



Bear in mind this only applies to Zerglings. Even Marine will not be able to slip through it.



According to Surfer4life, this technique has only been popularized lately. That basically mean you are still safe if you are playing public because the newbies still do not know about this technique yet. However, beware when you are playing inny.
Resources Sharing?
Starcraft2The recent Q&A with Blizzard has got my attention lately.

6. Will players be able to send resources to their allies? If so, will there be a limit to the amount of resources they are able to send?
Yes, players can send and request resources among teammates but only after a few minutes into the game. The reason for this is to minimize imbalances that could be created by one player getting a massive early economic boost from his or her partner dumping resources at the outset of the game. There currently is no limit to how many resources you can share.

With this feature, the whole gameplay will change drastically. In a 3on3 game, keep harassing the same player will never be that effective anymore. In BGH, sometimes you see a super player is able to take on 3 players because he can keep harassing 2 weaker players to not let them "grow", while defending from the 3rd player. That's what make it 1vs3 and a GG. This will not happen anymore in SC2 since this player who has not been harassed can share his resources to this 2 players.

Imagine I have 15k minerals but I am unable to fight this super guy off although I have reach 200 units, so I will just send my 5k minerals to each of my no-money-ally, and they will then immediately put up 100 cannons everywhere. Now, that situation is very demoralizing.

Resources sharing will definitely make the game play goes way TOO LONG because the player just won't die so easily now... which is something we all do not want. This is not Dota or Warcraft. This is Starcraft and we want the game to be short and sweet, 10min to 30min is enough. Resources sharing will probably drag the game to 1 hour or more.

Looking at the bright side, this feature will definitely make variety in the game. This will give us more strategy and interesting situation in a team game. And again, this is Starcraft 2 we are talking about, so we should look for evolution instead of seeking back what Starcraft 1 is.

I hope Blizzard make the right judgment on this. One thing which I think Blizzard should definitely implement is the resources from a dead or drop ally will be distributed to his allies. Now that is something we all need in Starcraft 1.

Starcraft 2 Latest Gameplay Video
Starcraft2Wow, here we go again. Another new Starcraft 2 gameplay video. I agree with everyone else, that this is the best battle report ever so far. A lot of real strategies have been applied here in this video. Everything seems so great and I am really looking forward for more.

This Terran vs Protoss video let us sees a lot more. Hellion, Rippers, and Thor seems very very cool. While in the Protoss side, we can see the usefullness of blink. Psi Storm and Nuke has pretty nice animation too ;)

However, one thing I really cannot stand is the "animation" of unit coming out from the Dropship. There is particulary "no animation" at all when a unit drop off from the Dropship. It just appear when you drop, and disappear when you load. Yes, I understand that's how it should work because we shouldn't have "cool down" time and there isn't any time for animation in this fast pace again, but still, this "no animation" thing really make Starcraft 2 drops uncool. At least I hope there will be certain animation that represent the load and unload action. What do you think?




BGH Map in Space
BGHers Exclusive NewsAnyone downloaded the BGH space map by ProbesPobres yet? I have tried it myself and I must say... green still better. However, thanks for the effort and we can play BGH in space now.

A few major changes to the original BGH map are the cliff. Now you can climb up to some of the cliff. Good thing? Not for cliffer :(

The 1st Minute of Every Game
ArticlesHello guys, here is another well-written article by GuitarGosu. This time, the topics are about Perfect Split, Worker Cycling, and Scouting in the very 1st minute of any game.

This article is worth mentioned in the front page because the writer has put a good in-depth view (and good grammer/typo) of how one should significantly distinguish themselves as a Pro or a Noob.

Noob will almost always unable to send their workers to the best minerals patch, and they could never use the Shift button to send back their worker to the mineral patch after it had done its duty. All this micromanagement will make huge difference in term of speed.

First Minute of Any Game by GuitarGosu

ArticlesHere is a well written article by GuitarGosu about banning someone who joins his game. I agree with the majority part of his article and I actually read the whole article... thrice :P

I'd actually did the same thing about the past by banning people the way GuitarGosu did. Like what mentioned in the article, we usually ban hacker name, vulgar name, bad records (I normally don't though), bad manner (I almost always ban this), clans who is too "directive", and definitely laggers.

There is another type of guy which I always ban though and perhaps some of you won't agree with me. Sometimes a random guy will join into my game and said "Woah, you are lousy_robot, BGHers.com admin. Your site suck ass. I love to bash BGHers.com". This type of person almost immediately get my ban. They thought by provoking will then get more games from me, but no... he get a ban instantly. Is funnier to see how he get banned and whisper later on in agony and frustration rather than to beat him in the game.

5 Tips to Become a Good Host
ArticlesBecoming a good host in public game is not easy. There are many hosts who failed to produce good game due to their poor judgment and lack of knowledge; and in the end, they wasted most of their time, restarting a game. Below are some tips to become a good host.

1. Use BWHF. In order to get a clean game with non-hacker inside, just open up BWHF and press PrintScreen (from your keyboard) when all players have joined up. If BWHF says CLEAN, then is time to start the game. If there is a hacker in the game, then BWHF will inform you by saying "Hacker at Slot X". Ban this guy immediately.

2. Ask whether everyone see the total number of players that have joined before starting the game. In many occasions, network conflict will cause some players unable to see the other player when joining the game. However, the host will definitely be able to see everyone. If someone is unable to see the other person, the game will immediately drop the player when the game start. So, make sure everyone sees everyone before go.

3. Test lag before go. Many hosts still do not know about this. Testing lag doesn't mean looking at the indicator with green or red bar. In order to test lag, just open and close slot OR change your race. If the response of the action is slow (more than 2 seconds), then this game is 100% lag regardless of whether everyone has green bar or not. There is most likely a culprit that causes the lag, so you will have to kick the player out one by one and retest the lag. Best is to keep testing the lag when a new player joined in so that you can easily identify the person who causes lag.

4. If you are hosting a game with 2 friends joining in as ally, make sure you don't have to stack them when you host the game. Stacking causes dismay to certain people because they thought you are stacking good players in your team, and so... they leave the game. In order to solve this, you can start the game with a password and ask your fellow allies to join in first. Because the game consists of a password, only your friends/allies can join. After they have joined in, you can ACTUALLY REMOVE THE PASSWORD AND MAKE IT PUBLIC by clicking on your own name and click the "Make Game Public" under the drop down this. This will immediately make your game available to public. This method also solves other problem such as you don't have to worry about your friend joining the game slower than the public.

5. Listen to everyone. At times, the people who join in might have friends who are coming along. If they said that someone else is coming, make sure that this someone is really in before you start the game because this guy will definitely leave the game if his friend is not there. Also make sure you arrange the team as how the players want it to be because they are most likely going to leave again if their friend is playing on the other team. So, be good and listen to what they say.

This guide has actually change the way many people play BGH in money gathering and it is extremely useful if you need to extract the full potential of your BGH skill.

Looking at the picture carefully, you will notice a few important facts:

1. Minerals that are at the back of other minerals always give less money. So, never send your workers to minerals that are at the back of other minerals at the begining.

2. To maximize your gas gathering at the beginning of the game, always go for the UPPER gas, but exception is made to position 5 and 6, whereby you should go to the LEFT side gas. Memorize this and it will be very helpful.

3. Position 7 has the worst money gathering but the highest in gas gathering.

4. Position 1 has the best in money gathering, but the worst in gas gathering.

Now, You can Guess AKAs More Accurately
UtilitiesBWHF 2.50 has just been released and yet again, we have some new goodies incorporated into it. Thank to Dakota_Fanning for his continuous effort on this gorgeous baby.

BWHF has a new feature and its called Player Matcher. With this new feature, you can now select two replays and compared them. Player Matcher will examine the replay and came out with a conclusion on how similar the players are in the replay.

The conclusion will show a result in figure. 0 being the lowest, and 100 being the highest. So if you see a score of 90, then it is very likely the two players in the replay are the same person. Hence, you can guess AKAs more accurately because the pattern on how someone play Starcraft is almost like finger prints.

Apart from Player Matcher, BWHF has also enhance the PCX Convertor tool. Now you can resize the dimension of images after conversion (.pcx to jpeg). This will help Webmaster a lot in case they need to put the images into their website with specific dimension.

Vultures Micro Nightmare (Training Map)
Strategy GuideIf you cannot micro your Vultures well, then you are not a Gosu Terran player. All Gosu Terran players must able to micro their 1 vultures against 5 SCVs. If you cannot do that, then you need more training :)

Here is a good UMS map to train your Vultures. You need this map in order to be good. You started off as a lone vultures and fight against 20 SCVs. Killing all the SCVs will advance you to the next level. Each level will become harder and harder and you will be amazed by how difficult it can be. I had only managed to get to Level 3 and failed to advance further. Along the way, you can upgrade your Vultures. This include fire power, armor, speed, and also get more vultures.



This game should be played with a few friends to ease the burden and to increase your chances of survival.
